Web18 de jun. de 2005 · I asked Stephen what fluid he recommended to run in the tranny after the rebuild. He said dexron 3 if I didnt mind some clutch chatter. He said its the best for the life of the tranny. If I didnt want the chatter, run ATF +3. Told me to stay away from the ATF +4. Said +4 has more friction modifier and could cause slippage in the tranny. WebThe 47RE is basically a 727 transmission with overdrive and some updated parts like steel gears instead of aluminum, as well as an increased number of clutch plates. I dont know about the internal differences in the above mentioned trannys but I can tell you that the 47re came behind the 96-2002 diesel or v10 applications. I am sure there are a few other things internally that are different. Otherwise, the external case is identical and will bolt up. I have no reverse and all forward gears and overdrive work perfectly but there is no engine braking in low 1 or 2. From what I've read in the manual I have narrowed the problem down to a faulty direct clutch. culinary modernism
