Its the way they wrote it the secret achievements are extremely vague. If youre trying to get the achievement it must be done in a certain order also very specific order. Upon leaving the area, the quest reset for some reason and when I repeated it, I could not cleanse my staff. I have the cleansed version equipped, and it has all the stats and active ability is available.
